Infectious multi instrumentalist and founder of heavy weight world music group Rhythm Hunters, Rendra has directed some of the largest drumming events in Australia including at Peat’s Ridge Festival, Splendour in the Grass and Woodford Folk Festival.

Rhythm Hunters has headlined Australia’s major folk and world music festivals including Woodford and The National. In 2004 he was awarded an Asialink performing arts residency in West Sumatra, Indonesia. Periods in Japan and West Africa led to the birth of thriving community space and venue The Rhythm Hut on the east coast of Australia.

Encounters with Asian arts including Tibetan martial training, a degree in Chinese Acupuncture & countless musical projects since a young age has propelled him into a fantastic and varied musical career spanning concert halls, music festivals, prestigious events and remote jungle experiences.

Rendra performs with Rhythm Hunters & Chaika, as well as playing with Nahko & Medicine for The People, Nicky Bomba, Kevin James, 5 Lands and Riley Lee. Rendra lives on the Central Coast of NSW.
