Welcome to Chaika

2016 has taken Chaika many places, including touring in May up and down the coast in NSW and the ACT, to the wonderful Humph Hall for a charity fundraiser for UNHCR, the gorgeous Kangaroo Valley Folk Festival, and a whirlwind November tour to Queensland. All the while we’ve been honing some brand new tunes that we started writing at Bundanon in May 2015 while we were Artists in Residence there. Our audiences have been loving this new music as much as we do and we’re looking forward to recording our third album next year.

I Monti, the title track from Chaika’s latest album.

Thank you so much to everyone who came to support our charity fundraiser at Humph Hall, we made over $1200 to go towards helping UNHCR in their efforts to lift the burden for refugees worldwide. We’ve just come back from a month of touring through November, the last weekend of which we spent in Queensland playing at QPAC and closing the beautiful Jungle Love Festival, and are looking forward to some rest time through the silly season. But even more exciting is what will come after – on Jan 7 we will be supporting Irish multi-platinum artist Sharon Shannon for her only Sydney show at The Basement. It will be a night not to be missed!
