Emily-Rose Šárkova

Emily-Rose Šárkova

One of Australia’s most versatile and vivacious multi-instrumentalists, Emily-Rose glides between jazz, classical, folk and world music, using the piano, piano accordion, voice and bandoneon as her mediums. Her compositions and performances evoke her deep respect for a multitude of musical traditions, paired with irreverence for anything that stands in the way of expressing her unique musical identity.

She has toured with groups such as ARIA award winning Monsieur Camembert, Helpmann award winning Australian Brandenburg Orchestra and Latin Grammy nominated Duo Ramirez Satorre. Her ensembles Chaika and Tángalo have toured Australia with much acclaim and she has recorded multiple albums with them, as well as recently being featured on early music ensemble Marais Project’s 20th Anniversary album. 2019 sees her forming many new genre bending creative partnerships nationally and internationally including jazz quintet Emily-Rose and the Wild Things, and collaborations with guitarist Adrian Ramirez (Argentina) and multi-instrumentalist Jaron Freeman-Fox (Canada).
